How Sumdog supports the Curriculum for Wales

With Sumdog, you can:

  • Set targeted, game-based maths practice for Years 1–6, fully aligned with the Curriculum for Wales and covering all areas of maths.
  • Use clear, accessible reporting tools to understand each pupil’s strengths, gaps, and next steps.
  • Motivate and reward pupils with in-game feedback, coins, and engaging competitions.
  • Take part in regional and national maths contests to build excitement and a positive culture around maths.

Because practice is already mapped to the Curriculum for Wales, teachers save valuable planning time while keeping every pupil focused on statutory expectations.

Mark Williams - Numeracy Lead, Cwmrhydyceirw Primary

"This will allow teachers delivering the Welsh Curriculum to tailor the learning of pupils in their class to specific skills in the Welsh curriculum and will benefit the pupils' numeracy skills immensely. It will allow teachers to assess essential numeracy skills in the curriculum and target their online learning to meet the needs of every learner, regardless of their ability. Plus, the games are great fun and fully engage and motivate the pupils!"

Danielle Williams - Maths Coordinator, Mayals Primary School

"Through my work aligning Sumdog with the Curriculum for Wales, I’ve seen firsthand how it can transform learning—empowering teachers and accelerating pupil progress through engaging, curriculum-aligned experiences tailored to individual needs"
