Using Data to Close the Attainment Gap: Tracking Progress with Sumdog
Thursday 29th January 3:30-4pm
How can data be used effectively to support pupils most at risk of falling behind?
This practical webinar explores how Sumdog can help schools close the attainment gap by tracking progress and targeting support for PEF-funded learners. With a focus on effective grouping, personalised practice and meaningful assessment, participants will learn how to use Sumdog’s reporting tools to identify learning gaps, monitor progress over time and evaluate the impact of interventions.
The session will demonstrate how data gathered through Sumdog can be used to support informed PEF planning, evidence improvement and strengthen reporting to stakeholders.
By the end of the webinar, teachers will feel confident using Sumdog data to make targeted decisions that support equity, raise attainment and improve outcomes for all pupils.

Using Pre and Post Tests to Measure Impact and Target Support
Thursday 26th February 3:30-4pm
Measuring the impact of interventions is essential for effective planning and informed decision-making.
This webinar focuses on how pre- and post-tests in Sumdog can be used to establish clear baselines, track progress and target support where it is needed most. Participants will explore how to design meaningful baseline and follow-up assessments, interpret the resulting data and use insights to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies and interventions.
The session will also demonstrate how assessment data can be used to evidence progress over time and inform future teaching priorities.
By the end of the webinar, staff will be confident in using Sumdog assessment data to demonstrate impact, support reflective practice and ensure teaching decisions are driven by evidence.
Embedding Hot and Cold Tasks in Numeracy Teaching
Wednesday 25th March 3:30-4pm
Hot and cold tasks play a key role in effective numeracy teaching, helping to identify prior knowledge, deepen understanding and support meaningful progression.
This webinar explores how Sumdog activities and challenges can be used to model hot and cold approaches within learning and teaching cycles. Participants will examine practical ways to plan pre-assessment (cold) tasks and consolidation (hot) tasks using Sumdog, ensuring learning is targeted and responsive to pupil need.
The session will highlight how these approaches support assessment for learning and help teachers adapt teaching based on clear evidence of progress.
By the end of the webinar, teachers will be able to confidently embed hot and cold tasks within Sumdog to support effective planning, assessment and consolidation in numeracy.
From Data to Dialogue: Using Sumdog Reports for Parent Meetings and Pupil Progress Discussions
Tuesday 28th April 3:30-4pm
Clear, accessible data can transform conversations with parents, carers and pupils.
This webinar explores how Sumdog reports can be used to support meaningful, evidence-based discussions about progress and next steps in learning. Participants will learn how to interpret and present diagnostic and fluency reports in ways that are easy to understand and relevant to individual learners.
The session will focus on translating data into clear messages that celebrate progress, identify areas for development and support constructive dialogue during parent meetings and pupil progress discussions.
By the end of the webinar, teachers will feel confident using Sumdog data to provide transparent, consistent and evidence-informed feedback to parents and carers, strengthening partnerships between home and school.
Benchmark Assessment with Sumdog: Identifying Core Numeracy Gaps
Wednesday 20th May 3:30-4pm
Establishing a shared understanding of pupil progress is essential for effective moderation and planning. This webinar explores how benchmark-style diagnostic assessments in Sumdog can be used to identify core numeracy gaps and support consistency across classes and stages. Participants will learn how to use Sumdog’s diagnostic data to build a clear picture of strengths and areas for development, enabling meaningful professional dialogue within and across teams.
The session will also demonstrate how consistent assessment data can support moderation, inform next steps and strengthen whole-school approaches to numeracy improvement.
To support implementation, participants will be set a short homework task to complete before the end of the school year. This will ensure benchmark assessments are in place and ready to support effective analysis and planning ready for back to school in August.
By the end of the webinar, school teams will be confident using shared Sumdog data to identify key gaps, support moderation and plan targeted next steps for the new session.
Evidence-Informed Numeracy Interventions: Supporting Professional Judgement
Tuesday 16th June 3:30-4pm
Making professional judgement with confidence requires robust evidence. This webinar explores how Sumdog data can be used alongside Curriculum for Excellence benchmarks to inform teaching decisions and plan targeted numeracy interventions. Participants will examine how Sumdog supports evidence-based approaches, linking digital learning to National Improvement Framework (NIF) priorities.
The session will focus on using assessment data to plan, track, and evaluate interventions, while also strengthening teacher confidence in moderation and professional dialogue.
By the end of the webinar, teachers will be able to use Sumdog data to underpin evidence-informed decisions, monitor the impact of interventions, and support coherent, targeted approaches to improving numeracy outcomes.
