What will I be asked to do?

Each project is different, but here's an example of some of the kinds of research we may need your help with:

  • Take part in a discussion with a member of the Sumdog Product team, either over a video call or in-person (a typical session would last around 30 minutes)
  • Interact with prototypes
  • Complete short surveys
  • Try out an upcoming feature with your class before it's released

FAQs

If you need any help or can't find the answer to your question here, please email our Product Manager at chris.newth-west@sumdog.com

Who can take part?

We're not just looking for teachers who love Sumdog or even use Sumdog frequently. Any teacher can sign up, and once we find a study you can help with, we'll reach out.

What's the time commitment of a study?

The time commitment can vary from a 5 minute survey to a 30 minute discussion but we’ll always let you know the time commitment when reaching out via email.

How often will I be contacted?

This will vary depending on the projects we have coming up, but we will only reach out when there is a study we think you may be interested in. Typically you’ll hear from us a few times a year, up to once a month.

Do I have to take part in every study I'm contacted about?

You don't have to take part if you're contacted about a study. There are no obligations and it’s entirely up to you if you choose to sign up.

Do I have to live in a certain country or region to take part?

No; thanks to online calls, you can participate from anywhere.

What will you do with my personal information?

The information you provide will only be used to match you with suitable studies and won’t be shared or sold to external parties. See our privacy policy for more detail.

Who are the people conducting the user research?

We work at Sumdog and are a team of Researchers, Product Managers and Designers who ask questions to understand what teachers need and want from an educational platform. We work with developers and other technologists to make sure we build a product that our users want to use and is valuable to them.

User Research is the discipline that allows us to understand the characteristics, needs and behaviours of our intended users. We want to work with you directly so we can identify opportunities for new features, evaluate designs and understand how Sumdog is experienced.

Can I leave the group?

We'll be sad to see you go, but yes, you can leave any time. To leave the group, please contact chris.newth-west@sumdog.com and request to be removed from our list.
